Growing up in the ballet world, set me up for very disorganized eating and not great weight loss advice. Fast forward to switching careers from professional ballet dancer to fitness expert AND getting older…I realized I was SO DONE with the whole diet thing! Consistency Hack For Weight Loss - Weight Loss for Women Over 40
One of the biggest complaints I hear from women who come to me wanting to work with me is that they need to be more consistent.
You’ve heard over and over “Consistency is King (or Queen)”
And while I will not negate that consistency IS important….for instance you will get better results from lifting weights on a consistent basis as opposed to lifting weight one time.
The problem comes in ..is when you are FORCING yourself to do all the things.
Recently, I had a client that messaged me that she felt obligated to do her workout but she didn’t feel good. She was tired and felt run down. Now, if you are in Dieter’s Mentality you will be thinking that you need to suck it up and do the workout.
I told her to go rest and not do her workout.
Does that mean she wasn’t consistent?...And in the big picture does that matter?

Most of the women that become my clients are perfectionist. They are high-achievers. They dot their “i’s” and cross their “t’s”. I think perfectionism has it’s place in certain areas and as a former perfectionist …I get it ladies. You want to present yourself…your ideas…your whatever in the best possible way!
Having grown up in the ballet world and later dancing professionally in ballet companies, perfection was DEMANDED from me. If it wasn’t perfect it didn’t happen.

If you search on the internet for ideas on how to lose weight especially if you are a woman over 40 …you will find TONS of videos or posts on how women over 40 can’t lose weight …because they’ve had kids…or things are just “different” now that they are older….their hormones are outta whack….it is ALL downhill and you might as well send yourself out to pasture and “accept” you body the way it is….blah, blah, blah….basically all doom and gloom.
I am sure if you continued to watch or read they would have had this magical exercise or the perfect potion that you need to lose the weight over 40 …
